The present study, aims to detect hepatitis A seropositivity of children who had consulted at Hakkâri province hospital (Hakkâri Devlet Hastanesi). Blood samples of 416 individuals which ranged between (0– 14) ages were studied with ELISA method (Etimax, DiaSorin, Italy). Neither of these 416 samples were found ‘only HAV IgM positive’. ‘Only anti-HAV IgG positive’ samples were detected in a rate of 62.98%. The rate of ‘anti-HAV Ig M positive samples as well as anti-HAV IgG positive samples’ were also found 5.04%. Consequently, amongst 416 serum samples, total amount of ‘hepatitis A seropositive’ samples were detected in a rate of 68.02%. Regarding childhood age group, hepatitis A seroprevalance has been reported to be in a range of 35–80% in Turkey. And also, has been suggested to be most common in Southeastern of Anatolia Region as well. In Hakkâri province (one of southeastern province) the amounts of anti-HAV positive samples that we were detected as 68.02% is a value less than that of Southeastern Anatolia region and but is an amount higher than that of Western Anatolia regions of Turkey. 

Hakkâri Devlet Hastanesine Başvuran 0–14 Yaş Grubu Çocuklarda Hepatit A Sıklığı

Bu çalışma hastanemize başvuran çocuk yaş grubunda hepatit A seropozitifliğini belirlemek amacı ile yapılmıştır. Yaşları 0–14 yaş arasında değişen 416 hastadan alınan kan örnekleri ELISA yöntemi ile (Etimax, DiaSorin, İtalya) çalışıldı. İncelenen 416 serum örneğinde tek başına antiHAV IgM pozitifliği hiç tespit edilmezken tek başına anti-HAV IgG pozitifliği %62.98 oranında tespit edildi. %5.04 oranında anti-HAV IgM ve anti-HAV IgG antikoru birlikte pozitif tespit edildi. 416 serum örneğinde hepatit A seropozitifliği (Total anti-HAV pozitifliği) %68.02 oranında bulunmuştur. Çocuk yaş grubu ele alındığında, Türkiye için hepatit A seroprevalansının %35–80 arasında değiştiği ve yaygınlığının en fazla Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesinde olduğu görülmektedir. Hakkâri’de 0–14 yaş grubunda tespit ettiğimiz %68.02 anti-HAV pozitifliği, Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgesinden bildirilen oranlardan düşük olmakla birlikte Batı illerinden bildirilen oranlardan çok yüksektir.
