INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

Dicle Medical Journal will consider the publication of manuscripts dealing with clinical or laboratory investigations, including original investigations, case reports, invited reviews and letter to editors in the broad field of Medicine. Animal or in vitro research will also be considered. All manuscripts are subject to peer -review.

Manuscripts can be written in English or Turkish. "Authors for whom English is not their native language are strongly encouraged to seek the aid of a professional English language editorial service.

All manuscripts should be prepared as appropriate for “Uniform Requirements for manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journals ( http://www.icmje.org/ ). All submitted manuscripts must be contributed solely to Dicle Medical Journal not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. A copyright transfer statement must be signed by all authors and accompany each submission.

Ethical Considerations

Manuscripts submitted for publication must contain a statement indicated that all prospective human studies have been approved by the ethics Committee, have therefore been performed in accordance with the ethical standards of 2013 Declaration of Helsinki. It should also be clearly stated that all persons gave informed consent prior to their inclusion in the study. Studies involving animals must have the animal ethics committee approval and be conducted in accordance with the care and use of laboratory animals standards.

Copyright agreement

All submitted materials become the property of Dicle Tıp Dergisi / Dicle Medical Journal. If a submission is accepted for publication, authors will sign a copyright transfer agreement. Copyright transfer agreement signed by all authors or by the correspondent Author on behalf of all authors should be sent to the Journal in a PDF file during the first submission process. The publisher reserves the copyright. Materials published in Dicle Tıp Dergisi / Dicle Medical Journal may not be reproduced or published elsewhere without written permission of the Publisher. The journal allow the author(s) to hold the copyright and to retain publishing rights without restrictions.

Manuscript preparation

Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order; Title page, Abstracts, Key words, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements, References, Tables, Figure Legends, Figures. All of these sections should run consecutively. The use of subheads is encouraged.

Title page: The title page should not contain abbreviations. The title page should contain the full names and affiliations of all authors, Conflict of Interest statement and complete contact information (including address, phone number, fax number, email) of the corresponding author.

Abstract: An abstract of no more than 250 words in length, describing the aims, the results that were obtained from presented data and the conclusions. Abstract should be structured including Objectives, Materials and methods, Results and Conclusion subheadings.

Key words: Up to five key words should be supplied following the abstract. The key words should reflect the central topic of the article and should be in compatible with Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/MeSHonDemand.html)..

References: References should be numbered consecutively in order of their appearance in the text and listed in numerical order. References should be given in bracket throughout main text. such as [21]. Journal titles should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus. The name of all authors should be written in the References, if six or less authors exist, and the first three authors and et al. should be given if the number of authors exceeds six.   References with correct punctuation should be as follows:

A paper published online but not (yet) in print can be cited using the Digital Object Identifier (DOI).

Title page should be prepared as separate Word file, and Main text should include Abstract, Main text, References, Tables and Figure legends should be incorporated in one document file and submitted as a single file.

Tables and   illustrations: Tables must be self-explanatory and must not duplicate information in the text. Each table must have a title and should be numbered in order of appearance in the text. Tables should incorporated into the main text and not prepared as separate word files. Any symbol and abbreviations used in the table body must be defined in a footnote to the table. Pictures and figures should be submitted as separate JPG files for each picture and figure. Copyright Transfer Agreement Form should be signed by all authors or by correspondent Author and submitted together with Manuscript files.

We do not accept submission via email and submission. Manuscript submission, reviewer process and publishing completely free of charge. So, we do not request a fee from authors in advance or after publication for submitted manuscripts to Dicle Medical Journal.
